Mandy has done a wonderful job of capturing the fragrance I love so much, jojoba oil and beeswax impart their own richness to the mix. -- Perfume Smellin’ Things
In Orchid, Mandy Aftel artfully paired the sunny, cheerful and spring-like floral note of orange flower absolute with the mysterious and deep aroma of shiso leaves. It has a strange and unique scent - warm, herbal and powdery all at once, green and with a slightly cumin-like undertone. The result is stunning and unusual. -- SmellyBlog Orchid Solid Perfume is a blend of spices, orange, and yummy orchid. This fragrance is subtle, feminine, and a little bit fiery. It’s completely portable, so you can just throw it in your handbag without worrying about a spill AND you can order samples to try before you buy. -- ECOutrement Fabulously Green Blog
Whatever Ms. Aftel envisioned for her Orchid Solid, was utterly gorgeous. Aftelier’s Orchid is an interesting fragrance that might take a little time to grasp, but it’s also one that you can surrender to immediately. The initial spicy peppery, cinnamon topnotes made my nose twitch with delight and curiosity. The floral/spice mix melted into my skin and after my introductory puzzlement, I realized I could not imagine Orchid unfolding in any other manner. The true beauty of Ms. Aftel’s creation is the orange blossom absolute. The interplay between the tropical narcotic, and the youthful fresh qualities of this blossom are perfectly balanced in her Orchid Solid. It’s green, heady, lush, citrusy, and vital. In Essence and Alchemy, Ms. Aftel describes absolutes as “floral essences at their truest and most concentrated.” That is certainly how the orange blossom of Aftelier’s Orchid flowers on the skin, truthfully. -- Scent Hive

Orchid is a go-anywhere fragrance, yet this versatility doesn’t diminish her fecund, rich-yet-fresh beauty. Round, voluptuous, and never over-bearing, Orchid gently, slowly, smoothly unfurls – on my skin anyway – most divinely between the breasts. I’d love to smell this fragrance on a number of men. Why not try for yourself? -- Perfume Pharmer
The star of the show in Aftelier's Orchid is orange blossom, masked by a contrasting olfactory context to reveal an imaginary fragrance of an exotic Orchid hidden in the midst of a tropical swamp. The flowers are floating above musty jungle-dust of toxic purple mushrooms and thick marsh water that is bubbling with silent life and violent decay. The euphoric and intoxicating fragrance lures us through the deadly water to find out more about its mysterious source and become illuminated by its beauty. -- Smelly Blog
In the base I detect vanilla that completes the perfume to make it a rounded, soft and warm creation that, whenever I smell it, makes me involuntarily roll my eyes heavenwards and smile. It is that original, unique and plain good... I wish such a flower existed, I would fill my house with it. -- Olfactoria's Travels
One full ounce of sterling silver makes this beautiful handmade compact, designed by Aftelier Perfumer Mandy Aftel. The compact is presented in your choice of an orange or purple silk pouch. -- Perfume Pharmer
