This very special antique sterling silver patch box from 1904 is has a stunningly detailed embossed pattern of beautiful flowing vines and leaves covering the entire surface of the box. There is a beautiful embossed bow at the top of the front and back of the box. The bottom of the box is hallmarked "ALLd (Aide & Lovekin ltd) Anchor (Birmingham) Lion (sterling) e (1904), and there are two hallmarks on the rim of the lid. The interior of the box has a gold-wash and a perfect mirror encircled with a gold braid. 1.5 inches across. Feels good in the hand and the price includes 1/4 oz (8 ml) solid perfume of your choice. Patch boxes came into use during the 18th century at the court of Louis XV, where the use of "beauty patches" was popular.
